Frequently Asked Questions
Does my dog play with other dogs in the yard?
Our customers have two options:
1. Standard Boarding - No
We let all dogs out 5 times a day into separate yards. For example, if you board two dogs that get along well, they will share a yard for each let out, but never play with other dogs. This is for the safety and happiness of all our guests - dogs may behave more aggressively away from home.
2. Doggy PlayCare Boarding - Yes (at Central only)
If your dog loves to play, please ask for a doggy interview at check in! After passing our temperament test, your dog may join our PlayCare customers after first let out and breakfast to spend the day with open access to a yard and lots of canine friends, then return to their room for dinner, last let out and bedtime. Our boarding PlayCare charge is $9.00.
How much exercise and interaction will my pet get?
All our canine guests get individual playtime in our yards a minimum of 5 times a day, the length of each playtime depending on the weather and the dog's own inclination. Our cats are housed in a separate room with their own treats, toys and cat scratchers, and take turns roaming freely over the course of the day.
Can my pets share a room?
Yes - in fact, we offer a 25% discount for each additional pet in a room to encourage sharing! Companionship is often a comfort to pets away from home. Cats and dogs may not share a room with each other, however, as pets may behave differently away from home and our rooms are designed differently for dog's and cat's needs.
Could you just give my dog a bath without the bells and whistles?
We offer complimentary baths for all customers staying for seven nights or longer, but unfortunately we do not offer all of our grooming services separately. We do offer a basic bath package, however.
Do you groom cats?
Unfortunately, we do not groom cats.
Can I call to see how my pet is doing?
Yes, please feel free to call any time. If our office is closed or we are currently working with a customer, we will call you back within 24 hours to check in with you and let you know how your pet is doing.
May I bring in vaccinations that I have administered at home?
No. We require proof that all vaccinations have been administered by a licensed veterinarian. There have been documented cases of vaccinations being stored improperly (e.g unrefrigerated) by feed stores, etc. and losing their efficacy. Our policy is to always ensure the safety of our guests in every way possible.
Do cats get playtime, too?
Yes, cats play, too! We let them take turns prowling around our Cat Room, which is well-stocked with cat scratchers, baskets, places to climb, and treats - not to mention ample pets and tummy-rubs from our staff.
My pet has an injury/has recently had surgery. Can he still board at CCPR?
We accept injured pets on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature and the severity of the problem. We may ask you to board your dog elsewhere if we feel that they require veterinary attention, and we always recommend that you get your dog evaluated by a veterinarian prior to boarding if it has had a recent injury or surgery.
Can I/my family/a friend visit my pet?
Absolutely! However, if you or a friend decide to take your pet temporarily to go for a walk, visit family, see a veterinarian, etc. we require a signed liability release form and a photocopy of your/their ID.
Do you have staff present 24/7?
No, but our staff is here from very early in the morning to late at night. We do have a security system throughout the entirety of both facilities that will automatically alert the police in the unlikely event of an emergency, such as a fire or an attempted break in.
When do I pay for my pet's stay?
Payment is due in full at check out, with the exception of a 50% deposit required at the time of reservation for stays longer than 30 days or holiday reservations. Deposits are refundable until 7 days prior to your arrival.
Can my neighbor/family/friend pick my pet up for me?
Yes, but please keep in mind that payment is due at pick up. We do accept prepayments, but your visit may include additional charges for late pickup, etc. We do not keep credit or debit cards on file for security reasons, and if you would like to have someone else pick up your dog we recommend that you request to leave your card information with the front desk for that specific stay.
